How can I get people to come or sponsor the club? Any ideas? Any experience?

    aw thats a good idea you could always ask the headteacher to mention it in your whole school assembly or make a leaflet or a poster and stick it up in reception or even go around the classes and teachers and ask them to sponser you and wash their cars or a cake stall maybe?

    To have something in school, I’m pretty sure you need the permission of the principal, and teacher supervision.
    When it comes to sponsors, you may just get the school’s sponsors.
    A lot of teachers may be willing to help, but you have to make sure enough people will want to join. You could do a survey, or just ask some of your friends.
    good luck

    How can you do that? Well it depends on how appealing they will find the idea and how appealing YOU will make it !
    You could start of by designing some flyers and talking with your colleagues about it . Having somebody else help you spread the idea around . Once you are there sponsoring should come much easier .

    You must make them LIKE the idea of it . Talk to your headmistress or headmaster , and ask them if you could use their ”wall” at school to post those flyers , ask for some minutes to talk about it in your classroom ..

    Good luck !=)

    When I was in High School I started a bicycle club. Our school had activity period every other week for clubs. Ski, Latin, Spanish, Chess, Math clubs and so on. A few of us were into road cycling so we found a teacher to be our adviser (only needed to actually supervise us during activity period) and we organized. I was the first President of the Northland High Wheelmen. A friend went to a rival school and they had the Brookhaven Bicycle Club (BBC – get it?). We trained and had club rides after school and competed with each other in races. It was fun. The yearbook staff even saw to it that we were included in the spring sports supplement of the year book.

    So if your school has clubs you are able to start a bike club. We drummed up interest by word of mouth, by announcements, and postings on the bulletin board. I believe we had 14 members that first year.

    Edit: We have a rash of thumbs down weenies this week.

    Ha, my school is full of low class pigs that never exercise and snobs.

    But, whetever, I’m like the only girl at my school that rides a mountain bike.

    (Sorry, that’s no help to your question.)
